3 Reasons To Rejuvenate with Roof Maxx

1. Rejuvenation saves you TONS of money when compared to replacement.

A bundle of shingles cost $26.00 on average in June of 2020, now that same bundle comes in at $39.00. That is an increase of $13 in a short two year timespan! Let’s see how this price increase effects the average Charlotte Metro Roof:

An average roof in our area is 30 squares or 3,000 square feet.

A roofing square requires 3 bundles of shingles to cover it properly. On a 30 square roof, you need at least 90 bundles of shingles. The 2020 cost of these bundles would have been $2,340.

The same exact shingles and 90 bundles comes in at $3,510 Today.

Now keep in mind that the price above is for shingles alone. A roof requires underlayment, plywood, drip edge, ice & water shield, plus other components.

The total average roof replacement cost in the Charlotte Metro area is $15,000 when you factor in all the costs involved.

At $3,000 on average for a Roof Rejuvenation Treatment, it just makes sense to extend out the life of your roof before shelling out that kind of cash for a replacement!

2. New Shingles Just Don’t Last As Long

A Square of roofing shingles (3 Bundles) weighed nearly 300 pounds up until the early 2000’s. That same Square of shingles only weighs 200 pounds nowadays. The difference is approximately 30% Less asphalt being applied to the shingles to cut down on manufacturing costs.

This reduction in asphalt causes the shingles to dry out, start flaking granules, and ultimately fail sooner than they did just a decade ago.

If a typical architectural roof lasts 20-25 years, how long do you think these roofs with 30% less asphalt will last? Only time will tell, but my bet is not longer.

3. Replacing Your Roof is a Mess!

We replace roofs as well as rejuvenate them and trust me, there is nothing fun about picking up 30,000 nails out of your yard that come off the average roof. We sweep the grass, pine needles, and shrubs with magnets for hours, but the reality is there is just no way we get every single nail.

We will remind you multiple times to remove small photos from the walls so they do not fall as we bang around on your roof for 12 hours, but inevitably you will forget and next thing you know that family picture from Florida is shattered on the ground.

Finally, your boss will probably be mildly upset if the rattling of our nail gun compressor can be heard in the background of every Zoom meeting you have that day.

Bottom line, no matter how reputable and thorough your roofing contractor is, there are still headaches associated with tearing off thousands of pounds of shingles and the nails that come with it.
